1. Do you do acrylic nail enhancements?
-We do not offer traditional monomer liquid and polymer powder acrylics because they’re too toxic for us.
2. What are 3/5/7 or 8 free polishes?
-Because Taylor Made Polish believes in minimizing exposure to harmful chemicals, our polishes are predominantly 5+free, which is a classification for nail polish that identifies how many of the leading chemical agents have been eliminated from the polish. Some brand name polishes on the market have committed to being 3-free. This is the minimum standard for Taylor Made Polish, with the majority of our products being 5-free or more.
3. Are your products cruelty free?
-All of our products are cruelty-free.
4. Do you use a drill?
-A “drill” in nail technology is an outdated term and a tool. We utilize an electronic file, (or e-file). An e-file is a more modern version of a drill. With advancements in e-file technology our trained technicians can now use e-files for certain natural nail services. All our technicians are trained in the proper use of an e-file making it a safe alternative to hand filing.
5. Do you offer nail art?
-Yes! You can select this as an add-on service when making your appointment. Be sure to provide a heads up so we can accommodate your request. Taylor Made Polish will feature the latest trends nail art, following events and seasons! Follow us on social media to catch up on the latest trends and service offerings.
6. Why are your services higher than other traditional or high-volume nail salons?
-Our goal is to provide a service that’s better in every way. We utilize higher quality, eco-friendly nail products that are slightly more expensive. In the long run we think it’s well worth it to provide our clients and technicians a healthier environment and experience. We are also firm believers in paying our staff a fair wage for their time and skill.
7. Can I keep my disposable supplies at the salon for use during my next appointment?
-We are not permitted to keep any used, disposable supplies or tools.
8. Do you use UV lamps?
-Although there is no definitive evidence that UV lamps are harmful during nail services, given the controversy surrounding UV rays in general Taylor Made Polish does not use them. An LED lamp is a perfectly safe alternative and cures in the half the time.
9. I’ve seen on DIY boards and Pinterest that I can make my own polish at home with clear nail polish and powder cosmetics. What makes Taylor Made Polish different?
-Depending on your base polish and the powder or glitter that you choose to mix in, it may not “hold” or mix with the color and instead, what’s been added will fall to the bottom of the bottle. Our bases are made to “hold” and mix with micas, concentrated color, pigments and glitter. Taylor Made Polish has a custom method and all the bases on hand, along with over 200 different micas, powders and glitters. All Taylor Made colors, powders and glitters are tested and labeled for nail polish use. Our LARGE VARIETY of supplies are ready and available, along with mixing tools, clean quality glass bottles and a printer for your custom name label.
10. Where did the name Taylor Made Polish come from?
-Taylor is the last name of Vanessa’s grandparents, Carroll and Pearl Taylor. They were a constant positive support throughout her life. It only makes sense they would be in inspiration for Vanessa’s next venture.
11. Do I need an appointment for services or for polish-making?
-Appointments are strongly recommended. Taylor Made Polish, along with all LV Beauty Loft services utilize an online booking system and app for easy scheduling. But for last minute or same-day openings follow our social media for announcements.
12. What are the benefits of making my own color?
-When you make your own color you have something completely unique to you. Take it with you and perform touch ups. Especially with natural nails, touch ups are typical before your next service.
13. Can I buy polish already made?
-Yes, Taylor Made Polish sells a line of our own custom, handcrafted polishes at LV Beauty Loft and online. Limited edition and special event colors will be released throughout the year in small batch quantities. Check our website and stay connected with social media for upcoming releases.
14. I understand the benefits of regular nail maintenance, do you offer a discount for weekly, bi-weekly or monthly services?
-There are two options for regular service discounts: Memberships and Series. Both offer a discount, with a membership offering the greater savings.
Memberships are a great choice for clients that book one or more services a month regularly. By becoming a member you will automatically save on your first service of the month, and each service after that. This is a better option for those that consistently keep their appointments. This is an EXCELLENT way to save on routine maintenance. Your membership fee is charged once a month on the first, at which time you will receive a credit for whichever membership service level you have selected. You can use this at any time, but remember only two of your benefits accrue in a 12 month period. Any additional nail or polish making services or upgrades you book for the remainder of the month will be 10% off. You’ll also receive a complimentary birthday manicure in your birthday month (for mani/pedi members) and 15% off of retail.
Series are a better choice for those that know the will use a certain number of services, but not necessarily on a consistent basis. A series offers clients the option to save without the commitment of regular scheduling. Savings are based on the services and service level purchased. Clients that purchase a series receive two retail purchases with a 10% savings. Series services expire after 18 months.
Both Membership and Series clients receive early access to other specials and events!
